Job Summary


• Demonstrate familiarity with working in a GLP/GMP environment


• Conducts filtration and chromatography procedures as outlined in study and laboratory protocols


• Performs tech transfer of column chromatography steps during execution of viral clearance studies 


• Authors data capture sheets for viral clearance scaled-down model experiments 


• Authors technical reports for viral clearance studies


• Executes purification of internal virus stocks


• Accurately completes testing records and required documentation in GxP 


• Performs basic maintenance of AKTA Explorer and AKTA Pure FPLC systems including equipment        cleaning, maintenance logs, and connecting with GE™ representatives as needed


• Aid in training of employees, as needed


• May write SOPs (e.g., for purification procedure or other procedures)


• Conducts filtration tasks including TFF/DF for virus purifications


• Supports collaborative studies performed with clients


• Assists with R&D projects and studies


• Participates in validating analytical equipment 


• Experience with using an ultracentrifuge


• Other duties as assigned 


 


 


Minimum requirements


• BS or BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or science related degree / relevant experience


• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with column chromatography and nanofiltration


• Must have experience with GE™ AKTA platforms and Unicorn software 


• Must be able to work in a BSL-2 laboratory setting wearing appropriate PPE


• Ability to push/pull/lift/manipulate 10-50 lbs. on a routine basis


• Must be able to collaborate with multiple teams 


• Must have clarity of vision and be able to distinguish different colors


• Effective multi-tasking and time management skills 


• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe required


• Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude


• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail 


 


Preferred requirements


• Experience in a GLP/GMP environment


• Experience with GxP documentation practices


• Experience with downstream process development


• Experience with qPCR


• Experience with laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, nanodrop, pH meters


• Experience with continuous chromatography  


• Experience with column packing
